UK Universities for Msc in Motorsports

I’m planning on earning a masters degree un the UK and I was especially interested in the motorsports programs at Oxford Brookes, Cranfield and Brunel University.

They all seem like they’re great programs but I was wondering if anyone heard anything about them good or bad. If I decide to go I’ll be bugging you guys across the pond for tips on living in the UK. I hope you don’t mind

One of the few things I learned living in UK is…beware of the cars…they’re driving on the wrong side of the road…hehehehehe

Good luck with your MSc

A yank on UK soil… beware of the british women, they wont leave you alone! haha

Good luck mate.

If you have been in the U.K. before, the prices won’t scare you.

Don’t congratulate me just yet! I haven’t even applied, let alone be accepted yet. From what I’ve heard it’s hard to get into those schools. :o

Oxford Brookes is good for Motorsports but not regarded as a particularly good university so hopefully you shouldn’t struggle to get a place there. Brunel is a good uni but don’t know much about their motorsport program. It’s quite an engineering orientated university so imagine it could be good. Lastly, with the exception of Imperial College London, Cranfield is “the” place to study anything composites related in the UK!! If you can get a place there, you would be mad not to go. Cranfield is also different from the others as it only does post-grad courses, there are no undergrads there at all so I wouldn’t be surprised if the quality of teaching is better and that you have greater contact time with staff.

Best of luck applying, drop me a line if you have any questions. Would be happy to help if I can.

A lot of the people I work with (majorly F1 / American Le Mans) went to Cranfield and either did aerospace or composites related courses Another you might consider is bristol University Not directly motorsport dedicated but I know a few of the newer guys coming through now studied there for the on the aerospace and manufacturing sides

greetings,

you have an interesting dilemma for your future . . . .
and i learned a great deal about the possibilities available
in the UK for advanced motorsports/aeronautical engineering programs.
i have a close friend with a BS ME from K State
who sucked up the expenses (HUGE!)- also meaning more debt -
& applied to Oxford Brooks & was accepted. 2 years ago he
graduated. i missed the graduation but we got him & his gear
into a VW diesel station wagon & from there roadtripped to the
continent across France, Switzerland into all things glorious
& grand called Italy. MotoGP stuff for a week.
so what am i saying here . . . . .
you need anymore reasons to scale up your life . . . ?

its a late reply but is it ever too late to expand a thought
process?

btw - he just hooked up with EBracing. good stuff. but it took
some time to get his potential lined up properly.
and i was impressed with the high regards for Cranfield as i
learned something new myself; as i wasn’t aware of the value Cranfield offered.

my 1st post.
great forum! doing my due diligence with lots of searches
and much reading/studying.
