Turning high temp resin into a gelcoat

Hi everyone,

If I add fumed silica to this high temp resin, to make a gelcoat, would that be ok to use as the surface layer of my moulds:

Or would it be better to use the following tooling gelcoat with a pigment added:

Thanks

Gelcoat will give a good surface quality(depending on the master) I don’t have any experience with silica, but I have used filltool from sicomin, wich gives a very hard surface, good surface quality, and can be mixed in the resin of your choice (Sicomin SR1660 in my case)

The second choise is the best
