Tryin for lemonade

Definately got lemons here lol. The nice thing is i can “fix” the dry spots, trim, & finish these two panels. There is a left and right side in one mold - infused in one shot. kinda.

The parts actually came out with a matte finish on the mold side… the mold has a slight texture from the oem parts i used to make the mold. It’s such a fine texture that three coats of clear coat would level it out and bring out a nice shine.

The first layer into the mold was 2x2 twill 6oz carbon fiber. Then two full layers of 9oz satin eglass. I should say…these are cosmetic parts, not structural. I don’t get often to make structural or mechanical parts, but soon I will be making a ram air intake duct.

There is some bridging on these side panels, not as bad as i thought it may have bridged though… so i think i can save these parts/repair them. I’ll post after they are trimmed and finished with more pics.

Any thoughts yet on fixing the tabs on the back of these parts? How are you going to ensure they are in the correct place?

they dont look bad… i can’t see any bridging from here though…

Maybe simply make a poster board / HDPE plastic outer shape template with oversize holes cut out for fasteners locating?
