What are a few good trade journals? What sources do you use to keep with new technologies?
Reinforced plastics magazine, from elsevier. I’m also a member of different linkedin groups, wich have some interesting news and discussions every now and then.
High Performance Composites and Composites World. SAMPE journal is very bland. only a few useful things in it, 90% ads.
In addition to the titles mentioned above, I add JEC magazine, subscription free…
I also like Professional Boat Builder. Sometimes it focuses on carbon. I’ve learned alot by attending Sampe meetings in Ft. Worth. Been to Lockeed Martin, Bell Helicopter, Raytheon and others to view their composite areas. Some pretty neat stuff and a lot of talks on processes and products.
Lockheed and Raytheon just let you walk in? Did you at least have to ask nicely?
Had to be really nice and get a hair cut…lol. The tours were through our SAMPE group and did require a clearance.
