Looks like Toray is trying to convince the public/big auto that carbon is the material of the future for auto. I recently heard that by 2020 70% of the worlds wealth will come from advanced materials. Looks like we are all on the band wagen early!

A number of my professors have stated that almost all innovations in engineering will come directly or indirectly from advanced materials. Only problem is that these advanced materials is just they’re so damn expensive 
It’s either VW or BMW that is going to produce an all carbon fiber unibody structure for their new electric car. They have had the prototype on display for media purposes.
I thought BMW was coming out with a car called “City Car” ? It’s a carbon unibody electric I think and the carbon is from the SGL/BMW joint venture in Washington state.

Edit: Nevermind looks like I read it wrong and it’s only the exterior that is made from carbon.
