Tools for Buffing polishing

I’ve been using this huge heavy electric Mikita buffer and no matter if I switch to a 3 inch pad or a 6 inch pad it’s still very awkward to buff small parts the size of your hand or so.

What does everyone use? I need a pretty aggressive pad since I wet sand with 2000 and get a decent finish. 3000 is ideal but sometimes it’s to time consuming.

DA all the way. I’ve got a Mint Pro Tools DA, and it is excellent.

I have the same and I have clamped it to a bench plenty of times to polish small parts. It Gives you nice control as you only holding the part and manuver it easily with out it biting or grabbing.

Hope that helps

Tim

I have a small pneumatic polisher with 3" pads that I get from the auto paint supplier.

for small parts buffing make a stack of buffing wheels in the bench drill press , that way instead of holding and manipulating the buffer you hold and manipulate the part.

I also have an attachment for 2" hook and loop polishing pads. This is also very good for when you need to do a repair to a mould and only want to concentrate on a small area
