I’m building a 20 foot racing trimaran sailboat from scratch. This is the center hull fared out almost ready for the outside skin of carbon fiber. The lay-up is vacuum bagged carbon fiber / Divinycell foam / vacuum bagged carbon fiber. I hired a NA and helped design the boat. website: themanshed.com

I could not get the picture to show so here is a link to the picture.
Sorry this took so long to approve. Your work looks great!
What do we see on that picture? Main hull, but with or without outer laminate?
Herman yes main hull mostly fared out waiting to be laminated. The inside of the hull has already been laminated when it was in the jig, each half at a time then joined.
This is a 3-D drawing of the base boat that was built in wood, before the design changes and modifications for a composite build. Everything will be composite - Carbon Fiber and West Systems Epoxy and a little Kevlar throw in few spots for puncture resistance.

This is the line drawing of the main hull changes we made for more cabin room and a chine without adding more wetted surface = water drag.
For just a simple and very fast daysailer what is the smallest tri that can be reasonably handled by one or two adults? I want something screamin fast that we can sit in while blowing by the locals (especially one older fellow that owns most of the town and has a multi-million dollar carbon sailboat that he is very proud to sail).
Any way to make us of components from windsurfers, etc. for the sails to save building time?
I’m pretty familiar with the F-boats and plan to own one someday. But the small boat might be fun for the time being.
Do a search for “Hobie TriFoiler”, that will shut the old fellow up.
The Hobie TriFoiler is fast I saw one a few years back. The foiler needs to be sailed in pretty smooth water and is slow until they get up on the foils then they scream.
I raced beach catamarans (20’ and less) for over 30 years. The price kept getting higher and higher until it got to the point that to be competitive you need to spend 20k -60k for a new Cat which is Autoclaved Carbon. A home builder can’t compete against that.
The same qualifications you are asking for is the idea behind my boat. A screamin’ fast two seated boat that you sit in. Since I’m getting up in the years it takes a toll on me climbing all over a beach cat. The TMS-20 comes apart so it is trailerable and should come in about 500 lbs. My wife and I can still lift the main hull in the picture not bad for a 20’ boat and a couple in the back side of the mid-fifties. The design was built for a 1000 mile “all out” off shore race called the Worrell 1000. They don’t do that race anymore but the idea was to have a fast comfortable boat so the crew could make it for 1000 miles straight with the least amount physical wear and tear.
For small fast foiling sailboats take a look at the international moth. Sadly I am to fat to enjoy what looks like a real blast
