Can someone recommend a product to tint loctite 1c black? I am joining halves of a split mold using 1c to fill gaps from over trimming. Carbon dust a decent option? I have plenty of that.
Is tinting a structural epoxy a bad idea?
I tint structural epoxy all the time. I probably wouldn’t do it with a critical load bearing part, but I’ve done it in the exact manner that you describe with no apparent reduction in the properties of the adhesive.
I just use a tiny amount of epoxy pigment. Like a very very small amount, just the very tip of a pop stick is plenty. It’s very black, so it goes a long way.
