Anyone have any recomendations on how to apply tinted lam resin in a mold with pva as the release film? Any secret recipes to thicken resin so the fisheye effect doesn’t take over? I’m trying to stay away from the smell of poly/vynle-ester or high grade paints for that matter. I’m just building toy boats and would like to keep it simple.
PVA fish eyes if you spray it on too heavy…try very light coats at first.
Just get and use gel coat for that use as there are more additives than color pigments.
Thanks Werk’s. The pva is no problem, I wter it down prior to spraying for thre glossy finish. I’m more concerned about using thickened, tinted resin in place of gelcoat. I guess I could go with an epoxy based paint in place of it. Just want’ed to stay away from the obvious fumes.
Epoxy mixed with graphite, aluminum powder, & cabosil comes out pretty nice.
