I want to thank everyone who has given me advice on this board. I live in a small town in Wisconsin and people admire the composite work I’ve done, but no one has shown an interest in doing it. So I’ve relied on learning from my mistakes and help from people on this forum.
I still have no clue how to “infuse” anything and my one attempt at vacuum bagging failed horribly, but I am learning more and more each time I work.
After messing up some carbon applications over a tight radius this last week and having it pull up and bridge, I learned that applying the weave at a 45 degree angle will help the fabric “lie down” and form around the radius a lot better. I also got some plastic hose that I duct taped in the bend to hold it down. I can’t believe I’ve been doing this stuff as a hobby for almost 9 years and I’m finally learning little stuff like that.
So thanks again and I sincerely appreciate all of your help.
