Texalium

Do you guys know where i can buy this dark silver texalium? Thanks

I’ve never seen it before. I use the regular texallium and it is a lighter color.
Hexcel makes the original texallium. maybe contact them.

Our local supplier has it but they’re in Canada.

Is it really darker or maybe just in the picture?

Try:

judging by the way the edges are frayed I’d say it is colored glass and not the aluminised texalium they even have black fiberglas in a 2X2 twill that some pass off as CF.

Getting samples of all the colors of texalium.

Supposedly they have Black, carbon, silver, blue and red…I just ordered another two rolls of the stuff.

I have some of that. I bought it as black texalium

scroll down to the texalium and it is their.

Has anyone tryed the black Tex? Is it the same as the silver Tex how its stiff? and does it look almost like real CF?

I got it in a couple colors. It handles just liket the silver does, it is hard as hell to work with and I have been unsuccessfull infusing with it. It bridges and when it does lay down it strechs and exposes the fiberglass that is not aluminized and that then turns clear

Here was the blue I cut this morning. Hopefully I am more succesful with that. the fabric looks just like it does now as it would cured under gel coat.

yea i have the same problem but with wet layup. it streches and shows the fiberlgass but good thing its silver so you can’t really tell. who did you get the blue from? i want to order some blue and some black and mayb some red thanks.

I got it all from www.fiberglasssupply.com

Well here is what the blue looks like under gel coat. Still having the same problems with bridging. It does not stick to tacky gel coat at all and so does not keep shape without streching fabric

What does the cut edge of Texalium look like? I’m thinking of making a couple of panels, but the edges will be exposed. What about colored 'glass?
