Taking a mould from a leather covered part

Hi all!

I´m starting to make a mould from a dashboard to replace it with a carbon fiber one. Problem is the dash is covered with some kind of leather and i would prefer not ro ruin it when taking the mould.
Is there any apropriate release material that can work and not destroying the original dash?

That’s a tough one. I’ve never had that situation. I usually use pva over things I don’t want to damage, But the PVA would just absorb into the leather. Sorry.
