Sydney Australia - Composite training

Hay guys,

As most for you aussies know the training available is Sydney is, let’s say non-existent. If any of you guys are Sydney based and want some free labour on Saturdays im more than happy to give a hand in exchange for knowledge and “on the job training”. Not to fussed in what is being produced as long as its composite based.

Running out of options and would like to limit the amount of money im spending on trial and error style learning.

Unfortunately we are based on the Gold Coast, but otherwise I might have taken you up on your offer!

I do however operate the sales department at Elite Composites and I personally have around 10 years experience manufacturing everything from wet lay-up boats, resin infused composite and carbon fibre motorsport panels to pre-preg engine components and medical equipment and have also consulted for some of Australia’s leading composite manufacturers.
Our new online sales department has been set up specifically for people just like yourself.

We are gearing up to become essentially the Australian version of Easy Composites in England (I’m sure you have heard of them), offering materials and expert advice.
Our team is very knowledgable, and if we don’t have the answer ourselves, we can get it for you.

Hi

You have the right attitude cartoon :cool: It the best way to learn is to look over someone’s shoulder.
I’m self taught with thousands of hours and thousands of $$$$ spent and it’s all paid off. Now I build composite gliders for a living :slight_smile: turned my hobby into a business.
I try to learn something every day. One huge thing I love about composites is the never ending evolution. I’m big into trying new things and finding simpler way and quick more efficient ways of doing techniques.

I’m on the Gold Coast as well. I just had a look at your web page :cool: I’ve been using cork core for a long time in my gliders. Brilliant stuff.
I’d sure like to come and meet you guys and put a face to the name and maybe look over your shoulder :wink: and learn some things as well.

I tell you what its sounding like I should be living in Goldy. the Pertek training centre and some skilled guys from up that way.

Any body willing to have me for a weeks of work placement :slight_smile:

There is a bunch of good composites shops up this way. I’m sure with a few emails you would get someone willing to help.
I work from home and mainly do hand lay up , vac bagging. Happy for you to hang out for a few days if you up here one day. Got a spare room :slight_smile:

Google … gizmo 36 and monster gizmo 2m and you will find my threads. Everything from my CNCed moulds and builds.
