Suggestions anyone?

Would like some suggestions as to techniques and tools to use to sand the fine louvre’d area shown in the pics. I have my own ideas but would like to get some other opinions first before I try. You never know, someone could have the magic formula already!!

Thanks in advance!!

Why sand it? Pour some PER and cast / flow it smooth!

Or place an alum panel in the area to make your mold…

Only issue with that is “correctness” of the part.

These things are originally FRP and ones that have not been cut open are getting hard to find, so I wanted to provide restorers the opportunity to have an uncut piece.

I did consider just smoothing it out though. But I just don’t want that to happen if I can help it.

Then use oil base modeling clay as a temp. solution.

Use your imagination when sanding complex and unusual surfaces. Depending on the spacing, try popsicle sticks, screwdriver, or rolled up sand paper.
