Question is I like gelcoat clear for surface and visual carbon/glass layup but the issue is I’m converting to epoxy from ve. Sunshield hates the release 
and do does a 50/50 clear gel and duratec additive

This has been covered a lot in previous threads. Its easy to deal with. Mist coat and let first layer tack up (usually 10-15mins depending on environment). Spray two medium coats after, waiting ~10 mins between each coat. If it still beads up after first mist coat then apply another mist coat before going on t the medium coats.
