still learning

Well here is the latest part i’ve atemped to do for my car.

Most of it came out good. But a few spots i guess were stretched too tight and pulled away, or just never went down all the way. which left like clear spots between the gelcoat and the wet out c/f.
But at least from this i learned not to apply the clear gelcoat too thick or it will become pasty looking, as this area did

But its a huge difference in using the clear gelcoat vs. not…BTW thanks to all the ppl here who answer all the questions i’ve had so far.

Next time, mix a little bit of black pigment with your gelcoat. This will cancels out the milky white. Good job

That looks pretty darn good for still learning  good job! If you’re not doing this already use two separate pieces of carbon for those bolt hold indentations. It is pretty hard to get one piece to conform to those without pulling away from the mold.

yeah very well done, for your first pull that looks great

Yea, we thought about cutting the c/f along the areas that contoured. But instead we clamped the c/f between the mold and the plug. Thinking that would make it conform. next one will get the knife

What is the piece? Looks part of a radiator support…

Not bad.

Yep
