Hi all,

Just like the screenname says, I am just some gun nut. I started out about 6 months ago making my own micarta grips for pistols.

which are just alternating layers of black and yellow or black and red canvas epoxied together.

Then I thought what I had was a EUREKA! moment and came up with this:

So I think I have had another EUREKA! moment a few weeks ago. And I will save that for my next thread.

That’s an nice looking 1911 you got there. Are you planning to do any other composite builds for your guns? There’s some folks on here that are working on a composite rifle stock. You might want to take a look at their work!

Yeah, I will have to check that out.

I have some wood furniture on one gun that I would like to wrap in carbon fiber, or maybe a colored kevlar.
