Spray Glue Removal

This isn’t the typical question about removing spray glue but stay with me for a moment haha.

I have been using super 77 forever. I do composites in one room and it has an old wood floor with the normal clear one stage clear coat on top. Over the course of some years the spray glue has layered and dirt stuck causing this real dirty looking floor. I tried removing it was acetone like an idiot thinking it would be a quick swipe and the glue would come up but low and behold the clear coat from the floor came up too.

Does anyone have something that’s harsh enough to take up dried super 77 and not remove flooring clear coat that’s a weak one stage from probably Home Depot or lowes brands they carry. It’s probably miniwax honestly.

So far I’ve tried acetone which takes forever and it strips the floor, and also denatured alcohol. No luck…

Polyurethane has good resistance to naptha, mineral spirits and gasoline among others. 3-1/2 decades ago when I worked in a cabinet shop, we used naptha to clean contact cement up when we were laminating formica tops. Acetone is kryptonite for poly.
Of course, test a small spot first when using the above chemicals.

Awesome I’ll go check some out! You may be a life saver haha!
