Speed up epoxy cure time?

Hi is there any way to speed up the curing time? I’m only doing carbon skinning
Cheers

Heat is the only way. Even if you can get it up to 35 or 40 degrees, it makes a dramatic difference. 50-60 degrees will have it ‘fully’ cured in just a couple of hours.

Iv got a infared heat lamp, that ok to use? How much heat can it take before any issues?
Cheers

Depends on the resin what heat it can take. Look at the TDS or ask your supplier. 50 degrees can be assumed as safe.

I wouldn’t go any higher than 60 without reading the TDS to make sure its ok. 40-50 is pretty ideal for speeding up a cure.

Had a play and it worked great, was fully cured in about a hour
Just need to work out a way of removing the air bubbles in the resin, hot air gun didn’t seem to do much :s

Epoxy resins usually have a few various of hardeners, so you can fit curing time to your demand . Some system enable even mixing two hardeners to have middle curing time between two hardeners.

Not bad for my first attempt at skinning

That does look nice. Did you vacuum bag it or hand lay it? What did you trim the edges and holes with?
