speed up drying of clearcoat

Hi guys, i don’t have paint boot and i just shoot clear in my small room and wait for the clear to dry which take a bit of time. please share on how you guys are doing it on a smaller scale, i was thinking on using some infrared light and i was not sure if this is a good idea.

lastly please share links for a diy oven for curing part after wet layup.

thanks

Infrared lights work well. Keep in mind a few things though. When baking, (force curing) clear coat, don’t do it too quickly. A quickly cured clear coat will be more brittle than a clear coat that is cured at room temp for 6 hours.

Also, when baking, make sure you are using fans to circulate the air above the panels. Letting that stale gas filled air above the part, (from the clear coat gassing off) will let the clear coat solvent popl. Put a fan over the part to provide fresh air, and don’t cure it over 100F.
