Now that its summer and short sleeves are normal atire, whats something you can put on your arms to prevent itching? When I cut and trim finished parts I put on a “lab coat” and that works well, but when I’m doing the lay up into the mold, or cutting the raw materials on my cutting bench, my arms still get really itchy. I put talc on my arms now, but doesn’t last long and needs to be reapplied. Any thing else I can look into?
They make barrier creams, but they are somewhat messy…

Baby powder, lots of baby powder. Dunp on head, arms, face, down shirt. Just pretend you’re going into a deep fryer
They make extra long disposable gloves that cover your wrists. Rightaid sells them.
Beyond that, can’t you just cover your arms with some other material or sweat bands or something?
I once bought a bunch of really lightweight fabric from a theater supply store. Anything thin and stretchy should be easy to tie around your forearms. Maybe you could borrow some of the wife’s tights…
Personally, I would prefer covering my arms with some material than any cream or Vaseline. If you get any of the cream or Vaseline on the carbon fiber or fiberglass, it might prevent the next layer from sticking.
Smooth-on sells some skin safe silicone rubber that you can brush on to your arms to create a custom non-stick forearm covering. I was thinking about getting some to make some re-usable non-stick gloves as I spend a fortune on disposable ones.
I’m just full of ideas today!
