Something that's not car or motorcycle related

Seems like everyone here only deals with cars and motorcycles, I guess I’ll post something a little different.

First one, HK P7M8, carbon fiber overlay on the grips. Too difficult to actually mold the entire grip from CF because of the details of the grip on the inside.

Second, I did make a mold of the grips. I have made clear grips like in this picture along with grips of other colors.

Third, Springfield Armory M1A riflestock. Fiberglass stock with carbon fiber and aluminum reinforcements. The stock is my own design. It is painted with crinkle finish to give it texture.

SWEET! That is pretty neat !

I designed a product that I am trying to get a patent for. It seems the process takes 20 years to do but hopefully I’ll be able to post pics soon.

I tried to get a patent on something at the begining of summer, then I went to a patent lawer to see everything I had to do to get the patent. I found out just to cover my a** I would have had to get 12 patents or it was possible to duplicate my item with little change and be legal. So I said screw that and even dropped the whole product idea I was doing

that sux. Mine is not looking so well either. I’ll probably end up scrubbing the patent and taking my chances.

I did cut the weight in half of the lightest steel product to date  .

You guys wandered off topic pretty darn fast there.

As for patents, they are useless unless you are a big company with lots of money to sue people. Very few people have the pockets to take on the big companies. One big problem with patents is you have to disclose everything. What the big companies will do is get all the patent lawyers and figure out what they need to change to avoid the patent.

The best thing to do if you can’t afford to sue everyone is not to disclose the product and license the technology to other companies.

 we tend to do that around here, there are only a handful of regulars and you can only talk composites so much.

I’ve seen alot of cool stuff and made some as well. I’ll try to get pics of the stocks I made for my Mossberg 12ga and new frontier muzzleloader.

only in the usa  (and the rest of the world apart from us  ) Those look well cool.

Puts my double barrel to shame!
