SOME VIP tools

What is the vacuum prob that be used in composites work called. My half-ass description goes like this: it is a quick released fitting. You put one end inside the bagging, then like poke a hole for the fitting and like attach your hoes. This is used to pull vacuum easily and not have to route much tubbing.

What leak detector are you using?

What spray glue do you use to keep your fabric from moving around on the mold?

Are you using an electric polish to buff your molds? I have large molds and this would greatly reduce time.

thanks,
Big

I think you are mistaken on the fittings if your doing VIP. You can just run your LDPE tubing into the bag and plastic barb fitting that goes to the spiral wrap (or Enkafusion) with some tacky tape involved. Or just run it in at the edge of the bag with the tacky tape sealing it off. But I do have a little stash of fitting from www.kentsystems.com that I use from time to time.

Infuzene and Airtech

Just some stuff I got from a local boat builder by Trewax.

Hope that helps.

Hey glen,
Since i have had trouble locating the local composite supply stores where can i buy the spray tach you are referring to?

And my question about using an electric polishing wheel is still up in the air
