If infusing with a glass that has built in flow media, like Rovicore, Flowmat, or Uniconform, and the resin (in) port and the vac (out) port are molded into the flange in a way those portions will be trimmed off the completed part, I don’t need any consumable products at all? Just lay the glass, infuse, cure, pull part and trim?
Yep you got it!
Almost got it. In 99% of the cases the vacuum is somewhere in the middle of the part.
If you like I can dropbox you a file with instructions on RTMlight mould building.
I think we would all love to have this file…maybe you can post it here
I would love to post it, but it is 90 mb or so.
Thank you Herman! Great stuff! I question if the 6" flange is wide enough. Do you know how to figure the proper flange size? The hull is approximately 80 square feet.
Hi Herman
I try to send you a private message but your box is full
I would really like to read this file instruction
I open a Dropbox account or if you can PM the way to access to the file I would appreciate a lot
Thank you. Best regards
I cleaned out my PM box. Can you send me a PM with your Email address? I will send an invitation for Dropbox (with 500 mb bonus) and an invitation for my “Composites” folder.
Thanks for that file Herman. It was a very well done paper and lots to consider. It makes the typical infusion mold look simple compared in the amount of additional work. Whew !
Yes, making an RTM light mould set is all about details. All the work is not difficult, but there are so many tips and tricks.
To be honest not every tool builder follows these “rules” and sometimes that bites them in the back.
Hi herman,
I’ve just sent you a PM.
Could you share the RTM light paper via Dropbox?
Thanks
Hi Herman, I’m interested also to the instructions of RTMlight mould construction…can you send me too please?
Please send me a private message with your mail address. I will then send you an invitation for becoming member of Dropbox (following the link in that mail will also give you and me a 500 mb bonus, which allows me to add more files.
In addition to that I will send out an invitation to join my composites folder.
Hi Herman
Thank you for your kindness
Really appreciate the files big help to understand the full process
Best regards. Phsledge
Great reading herman.
Got interested on the RTM light with a pressure pot.
Do you know suppliers for the seals and the reinforcements?
Thanks!
Gonna have to hop on the wagon. Herman, PM inbound. Any info appreciated!
It would appear that my egregious lack of posts due to fresh membership on the boards has blocked my PM abilities. Disregard Herman. ;/
Nonono, no disregard. Send a mail to:
herman at hmtf dot nl
and I will get things sorted.
Will do, thanks!
thanks Herman, your files are very interesting and very useful
