If you want to just cover it up with carbon, I think it’d be pretty hard to do without vacuum bagging. Or you could also buy a carbon sleeve and insert the shift knob into it. Pull the sleeve in both directions so that it stretches and conform to your knob. That’s the only thing I could think off. Good luck.
