Sherwin Williams HPC 15

Air baked clear coat.

Very very durable and uv resistant.

Able to wet sand and polish in 7-15 minutes… WOW!!!

I use this product on everything that has a show finish. It also works great if there is a small ammount of print on the surface. One heavy coat. Block sand. Spray again. Done.

FYI you can use normal reducer (medium, fast, and slow) with it as well but generally I stick with the kit sold at sherwin williams.

Check it out next time you want to go experimenting…

This clear can build to the point that it looks like gel coat.

I hope this product comes in handy for some one as it has for me.

wow… almost sounds too good to be true. $244. for 4 liters. Do you spray it on just like clear urethane paint?

Expensive however!

yes and no… funny thing is you kinda use less material being that one heavy pass usually fits the bill. i use a mini hvlp on full blast fluid and a little air pressure. the coat will quickly flow but after about 3 minutes it freezes and then hardens. 5 minutes and its tack free. 7 and you can sand it. 10- 15 ready to polish.

Its hard to run and sag with it.

its very very expensive… over double what a gallon of clear and hardener costs. but for what its worth its worth it.

so so so much faster. trash wont fall in it and usually if it does it doesnt get stuck in the clear.

the first time i used it i had the parts outside drying in the sun… when i came back out dust and leaves blew all over the parts… but … they wiped right off just like the parts were never sprayed.

awesome stuff.

My concern would be clear hardening in the gun, and cost like you mentioned. I would consider it though if i have a rush job to get out.

Anyone know where to find it (or similar) in EU?

Thanks

nope isnt a problem… it takes hours for it to cure in the gun. although it will make a slight drip on the fluid tip you need to wipe off every so often…

i buy it directly from sherwin williams…

International shipping is a killer for hazardous goods. EU = Europe or more precisely, Germany.

Sherwinn Williams is a huge corporation, they may have locations in Europe. Check their website

I found Transtar makes a quick clear ( urethane clear ) that can be buffed 2 hours after spraying. it runs around $200 for 1.5 gallons.

HPC15 is designed for a range of speed applications from single to multi-panel repairs, and can be sanded or polished in only 15 minutes at 75B:F! Leading the pack for all Premium Clearcoats. I think its the best thing.
Thanks

I couldn’t get the HPC stuff, but we bought a gallon kit of Medallion RS2600V clear. It is a fast curing clear, buff 3 hrs after application. price was $130 with the fast hardener. I just sprayed it an hour ago. I’ll let you know how it buffs and post some pics after.
