Sheet Epoxy for laminating

Found that product someone on here was talking about… it is plastic sheet, but it is laminating epoxy. You use it with dry carbon fiber cloth, lay the epoxy in between the layers and it flows out under oven heat/cure.

977-2 is good. I think it might be toughened (might be -03 though)
I have not worked with the film adhesive though for doing film infusion. Should be what it’s for though.

such a clever product!

I thought it was a cool idea when the other guy ( student ) on here posted up about using it.

The bummer part is needing a freezer to store it.

I want to try prepreg very much so , but don’t have the resources just yet. I think once I get set up in a shop again I want to invest in a freezer and possibly a prepreg automated cutting table. If I could find the right cutting head I could probably build the cnc plotter-cutter. It wouldn’t be as nice as a $60K machine. It’s good to know people in the metals mfg business… never know when you may need them!

Try getting a contact at Cytec (sorry I don’t have any besides a tech, whose name I remember only being Rusty), and try to get some samples or hand-sheets of the film resin. it will help you decide and plan for that use. Maybe see if you can get some prepreg sheets as well. Store in tiny freezer and use at will
