Selling on Amazon Q's

Being in composites we all know how expensive materials and labor can be. I’m looking to sell some of my products on Amazon.com

This looks pretty straight forward.

My slight issue, perhaps not an issue at all is:

I do not keep any inventory… a customer buys a product, I make it then it ships to them. Can i use this same method of sale on Amazon? How many days does Amazon give it’s sellers to ship an item once purchased?

My “build” time for a product is anywhere from 3 to 10 days.

Thanks in advance for the responses.

When you mention the time-to-ship it should not be a problem.

But before doing so I would read through the terms. Customers can be harsh if they do not know the shipping time, and Amazon could be protecting the customer in this respect.

Is Ebay an option as well? Or running your own webshop.

I would suggest building them first and then selling them, amazon customers have a higher expectation of “speed” and Amazon’s model will side with the buyer more often.

I recently sold some parts on eBay I had from an older mould, it was a vehicle platform which has aged and we use to make the parts on the regular. It was for an older E30 model BMW part and I didn’t realize eBay changed there rules. When a seller sells something the money is held for 21 days prior to release, but you must ship the part. eBay will only hand out a power seller status provided the item ships in under 24 hours, it must have tracking on it also.

A lot of sellers have been complaining the rules make it tough to maintain profit, Amazon is easier but I thin you would have to pretty explicit in the posting it is custom and hence takes time.
