Have to bond some very old f/g mouldings together, which are the two halves of an old classic motorcycle fuel tank. Wonder whether it would be best to use poly bonding paste, after carefully keying the surfaces and scouring with acetone? If not what would be the best way to go about a job like this?

Wash with acetone, let them fully dry and then use Epoxy lamination resin for tthe best strength and clamp tight. After it has cured, you might also pour a little more in the filler neck and slush around to seal any leaks left (except the petcock hole)!
