Sandwich and Infusion

I need to make a flat table (2m x 1m). This table must be very strenght and light.
I only need a beautifull surface on the top.
I now use the infusion technic ( thanks to DDCompound  )

I think that the better way to make this is to use a glass larger than my definitive dimensions to get my perfect surface on the top.

On the rear side, I think to do like this:

1 layer of carbon twill 245gr/m2
2 layers of carbon bi diagonal 410gr/m2
1 core material
2 layers of carbon bi diagonal 410gr/m2

What do think about my specifications with those layers ?
Is my table will be strenght ? For the lightness, the weight will be approximatly 2,5-3kg, this is good for me.

I have some interrogations about the core material and the infusion.
I saw that all core material are not available with the infusion, so what core material can I use without altering the perfect surface I need and the lightness ?

I saw those products:

Thanks for your help.

I would stick with a closed cell foam core. There are a few types that have scores in the surface, and holes through, to aid infusion.
As for the strength, well, that layup would be good, as long as it is only for a simple table. Might not take many hard hits well, or someone dancing on it  If possible, add a layer of the twill on the back…or a cheaper 0/90 fabric…that way you will have an even layup.

In your country, ask a Sicomin dealer for infusion perforated Airex.

The 2 links you posted do not contain infusion compatible material.

I have no idea where you are located, but if you want to purchase in Belgium, you could also try MC Technics.

Thanks for your replies.

I’m from France and here Sicomin sells directly to customers.
I’ve contacted them and they have adviced me to take this product in 40mm of thickness:

http://www.boutique-resine-epoxy.fr/sandwich-pvc-airex/89-c-7055.html

This product is made for infusion, it contains micro perforated holes every 1cm. When the resin infuses the core material, the resin closes the holes and create a structure into the foam.

I will try this system. I Hope to have a good result. I will take picture to show you how it works.
