Does anyone have pictures of or experience with clear coated parts after a small amount of sanding into the weave? I am using a satin clear and I’m assuming it won’t be too noticeable in the few small areas.
Thanks for the help!

Can you post a pic so we can see exactly how far you sanded in?
Can’t post a pic today (don’t have a camera at work) but not too deep. I was sanding with 220 to level a failed attempt to fill some pin holes and stopped when the runoff changed from white to grey. I’ll try to remember to grab my camera for tomorrow.
I have done it plenty when laminating items. Looks fine after clear.
Yes, also done it plenty of times and it looks fine as long as it isnt too deep and effectively removes the raised crossover/intersection between warp and weft tows
If you havnt gone too deep it will not be noticeable after clear coating.
We do not clear are parts very often as they are generally painted (Race car parts) but on the rare occation that we do clearcoat parts it is almost impossible not to break into the carbon (unless the parts are gel-coated) and we have never had anyone comment about the weave not looking normal, its usually a comment about how we got it so smooth and shiney!
