Saertex multiaxial

I emailed them last Friday, got a response today… they said they would sell me a full roll. I’m thinking it’s probably around $5,000 for one roll. I didn’t ask because the sales guy asked me what kind i wanted first. He also said it would more than likely come from Germany and be an Extra Weight charge.

Although it would be a damn big roll if it’s the same material Joe sold some of us… so thick that 100 yards would probably be a two and a half foot thick roll. So in other words hold your arms out in front of you and make a circle and imagine that even bigger.

I mean i’m not a big hurry for the stuff, but i wanted to get some info for all of us that like that cloth. I tried to get AVTcomposites to buy a roll and resell it, but that was a no go with them, they weren’t interested in doing that. By the way AVTcomposites buys their stuff from BGFIndustries…some of it they said. So that was helpful to know.

I’m emailing Saetex back and asking what they have available in their US warehouse to sell and if a full roll is the minimum required to buy. Saertex also wanted to know what style of multiaxial i wanted …apparently they have a few varieties. Most from Germany plant i believe.

Done, I emailed Even back at Saertex. I asked him what he has in stock in the US factory warehouse, and how much $. I also asked how many yards on a full “roll”.

Maybe sometime we can do a “group buy” on a roll from them, have them split it up and ship it to each person who buys.

Did they say how much it was a yard???

Multiaxial is often sold by the pound, and rolls are generally measured in pounds with total yardage being approximate.
Fixed thread title too.

C.J. the sales rep guy did not say how much it costs. He basically said i could buy a roll, no problem with them. it would have to be shipped from Germany with overweight charge.

They wanted to charge me 200$ for shipping 3 meters on a roll from germany!!!
Luckily they had some old fabric in america that they scrounged up.
Damnit, I really have to finish making my panels.
I’ve put that off for too long!

I suggest if you are using core with this material, poke holes in it, or use infusion core that has holes in it!!!

yeah overseas shipping is crazy expensive. I have a customer in Greece who wants some R1 side fairings made, but shipping is $250 or more for those two parts to Greece. George_Gratt …pm me and i can hook you up this guy, he wants these two side fairings made.
