Is there a commercial use for rubber reinforced composites? I just got a job in gasket factory that uses rubber extensively to manufacture gaskets. There are significant off cuts of rubber that just get thrown out and I was wondering if there was a way I could put them to good use through composites application of some sort.
is it a thermoplastic elastomer rubber? You can always remold it into sheets and use as an anti-leak fuel tank with CF/FG shell. You can add it in a resin, but you would have to chop it into 10-20um sized powder, and react the surface to the resin. Else…composites needs gaskets!!
Epoxy based non slip paint? If the offcuts are reasonably consistent, or can be graded.
