Hi, I have read through all the posts about which pumps are good etc. but I cant afford one of the expensive pumps, but dont want to go to harbor freight either. I was wondering if a Robinair 15500 would be a good starter vacuum. I am looking to make things such as hoods, doors, fenders etc for cars. I currently work at a fiberglass shop that makes molds and things so I have that down. I am just wanting to start trying out resin infusion.

I have whatever red one and it’s worked fine. Honestly I have 2 and bought them off of amazon. I think it’s a 3 or 5cfm but it wasn’t more then a couple hundred dollars. Your main investment in my opinion for a successful infusion is your vacuum gauge. Invest into a digital one like the gdh200. It’s a greisinger gauge.

Thanks Infused. Ill look that gauge up. i have been reading here too that digital is the way to go
