what i want to know ishow much volume is occupied by 2oz of caposil compared to 2 oz of microballoons.
i’m asking because i need to fill a group of holes in production and would be repetative task that i want to cut down on cost of resin and wieght of part. I’m not sure if i’m giving all the info needed to answer this but let’s see what happens.
jeremy, the cost of cabosil is probably less, but the exotherm of microspheres or baloons would be less
alright, but talking strictly in volume occupied. what would be the difference. round it off if you need to or use a common microballoon size let’s say. I don’t even know how small they get but let’s say the common size that would be used in body filler applications. I know there’s a way to do it, but I don’t know how much dead space that is occupied by the resin in a caposil mix and a balloon mix. it’s just to run some #'s but this part of it i don’t know how to do.
My guess is that the cabosil since it is microscopic, is going to hold between 4 and 5 times the amount of resin as the micro baloons to get the same consistency mixture.
