Resin Infusion air in feed line at start of procedure

Is there a common or straightforward method to eliminate or reduce the gulp of air in the feed tube that precedes the resin?
After preparation, mixing resin (and degassing if desired), evacuating all air and moisture from the laminate stack and leak testing, it seems crazy to just let a bubble of air through the bag.

I built an elevated funnel with integrated MTI self regulating pressure valve then the feed clamp but there is still air preceding the resin.
I believe Boeing has a closed system with reduced vacuum on the resin supply and Vacmobiles has incorporated such thinking into their systems too.
As it may be related, why is it recommended to have the bucket of resin at or below the lowest point of the mold?
I use MTI hose which does what it does, but have some other problems I will ask in another post.
Thanks.
