Hey, so 25" of merc. is pretty heavy… i want to know if a 2 part mold where the parting line is right in the middle will hold well. should i put tape? then gel coat. then sand that line down?
how do others do it?
Apply a thin layer of silicone sealant between mold flanges before bolting together.
Also, putting a little bit of oil based clay between the seams on the mold face helps avoid getting resin in there.
