Has anyone tried this for vacuum infusion. I have seen videos of people fixing a bundle of peel ply to the entrance of the vacuum line.
technically yes. You can even make a resin trap out of another bag filled with breather right after your part bag.
Would anyone recommend it? I dont have a resin trap so it would save me buying one but I am a bit worried some resin may get through and ruin the pump.
you can always make one from a glass jar if you want to save money
It can work well if you have space for it on the tool flange. Instead of peel ply though, use fabric scraps. Peel ply doesn’t really stick to resin, and will leave residue on the tool surface and have flakes come off when removed. Fabric will turn into a solid and release cleanly.
