what kind of release do you use on a plastic piece? I tried with a liquid wax but I have problem with the plastic surface…after unplugging the mold, the plastic surface has small holes. I tried also with PVA and there isn’t this problem. What kind of release do you use if you need to do a mould on a plastic surface?
When in doubt use PVA. Plastic is a common name for anything oil based. Some plastics can dissolve in solvents (styrene!), others are OK.
Based on your picture I guess you were working with polyester, which attacked the plastic used. But without more info it is hard to tell…
yes I was using polyester gel coat and resin…plastic was ABS, but now i’m not sure, later I will control what kind of plastic is
if I use epox gel coat…there is the same problem or not? without using PVA
no name of kind of plastic behind the piece…I will do tests with different kind of plastic
epoxy will not attack plastics.
