Here is an unusual application. I want to reinforce a leather belt so it doesn’t stretch at all in its long direction. I’m thinking I can glue something to one side. Any suggestions?
I would imagine stitching a fabric (like Kevlar if you want to be a bit high tech) to the belt would be the better option. The reason being, I don’t imagine glue being stuck to a belt would hold up to the bending around your waist and it would make the belt rigid at that glue point (and may ultimately break away from the leather).
There are resins out there which are designed to be flexible for use in mudflaps etc… but not sure if it would suit a belt.
Very happy to be proved wrong and would like to see some results if you try it anyway.

Sail makers use a variety of fibre reinforced sticky backed tapes to reinforce load areas in sails. Carbon fibre, Kevlar and Dyneema. All are great for no stretch applications.
For the belt I think it could only work on the outside of the belt as if it were on the inside then the tension may peel it off the leather.
Maybe sew two layers of thinner leather with fibre tapes in-between the leather layers??
Why not just stich an overlay of leather on top of a normal knit belt? You can completely seal the belt in with an envelop of leather, and then just anchor the knit belt to the leather at the ends.
is your plan for the belt to hold a hip holster? I was guessing you didnt want sag from your belt with a pistol on it. for CPL?
Because normal knit belts stretch. I haven’t found any knitted or woven common textile materials that don’t stretch.
No, but that sounds like a real good use. I will be fastening electronics soldered to copper electric circuits etched on Kapton. I don’t want to subject then to any stress yet always maintain their position relative to the leather.
Search Dyneema or Kevlar webbing, a 25mm wide webbing will do it. Common stuff in yachts for ropes and webbing to hold without stretch.
Sorry, I should have been more specific: I was referring to seat belt webbing. That stuff won’t really stretch. The leather would give long before the belt did.
Okay, I’ve gotten some Kevlar tape. Now I need to decide what adhesive to use to bond it to the leather. Any ideas?
You could use a polyurethane adhesive like Sikaflex.
