what i did to rims? just overlay it.
once succeed and then fail on the others. 
looks like a really cool idea but won’t it make it impossible to mount tires now? maybe you should have made it removable and then just tack it on with silicone adhesive when the tires are mounted.

i made a replica of a volks racing rims. to made a carbon fiber cover. but seems waste to much time until finish.
So those are only covers? I thought you bonded the carbon fiber to the wheel.

yes. i thought it was impossible to just bonded carbon fiber to wheel. due to increasing temperature in rims while braking, may effect to the bonded.
Wow - that one looks really nice! Sure looks like a lot of work. What exactly was the process? Did you first take a mould from the wheels, then make your CF part from that?
yes, i had to make 3 moulds to get the rims replica at exact size, of course with carbon fiber and epoxy resin to avoid shrink.
it was two month ago. and now, i’m still sanding the only one cover that i have made from this mould.
