Race Car Panel Thicknesses

Hi sorry to post this question as its probably been asked to death, but I haven’t been able to find much information in relation to how thick I should make some parts. I’m working on a hood (4’x5’) and some fender’s and im trying to figure out how many layers I need to make these panels rigid enough. One recommendation I got was to use 7 layers of 2x2 twill alternating directions? This gets really expensive when you figure they are going on a drift car and may need to be replaced if tapped.

What do you guys recommend for the number of layers whether fiberglass with a carbon top or solid carbon, and has anyone used polyester infusion resin as compared to epoxy?. I assume using fiberglass means a thicker part and more infusion resin so what do you guys find the most economical price wise?

BTW, the hood is only one mold (5 layers 1.5ozCSM) not 2 pieces that will be combined. I plan to possibly run some 2" foam strips along the red lines to build up some rigidity
