Question regarding 2 part foam to insulate between parts

I have been asked to create tooling for, and start producing insulated coffin box (cooler box) for a boat. Essentially the product is an lid, an outer shell, an inner liner. The space between the inner and outer liner needs to be insulated. Does anybody have any advice or recommended reading on the best way to use expanding foam (2# density) I’m between 2 parts without blowing the parts out? I’m assuming it’s going to take come volume calculations and trial and error… And I’m also assuming that the parts will need to be in molds when applying the foam to preserve the shape… The pic below is to a product very similar to what I’m looking to recreate. Gourmet I’m also just looking to learn the technique so I may also apply it to other situations. Thanks in advance.
