Project 1

here we are then some pics of my plug and mould. (if you read the other thread then you will prob already know the mould far from perfect but it was a good learning curve!)

Its an A-pillar. My eventual plan is to build a total replacement set/pair. I havent figured out how it actually going to be fixed yet. (any ideas are welcome). I was just going to wing it and see if it stayed on the car without fittings and if it didnt try and solve that prob afterwards.

Anyway here are the pics,

hope that works it should be the plug.

plug and mould (pre cleaning will do that tomorrw)

I put the plasticene on a couple of days before hand and it stared to dry out and with the wax and pva dried out more so i think thats why it stuck to the mould and not the plug - no big prob there from what i can tell, i hope.

Another of the mould- not sure you can really see it but by the bit of purple plasticene the mould comes back on its self (neg angle) i dont think it will cause to much of a problem as the opposite side is positve but to get any thing to take that shape i think i would have to infuse it rather than bag it.

There are to many air bubble it this mould for me to use it really but any feed back you can give is much appreciated.

the moulds only about 2-3 layers 0f 3oz csm as thats all i could do before i was banned from making moulds at home  It has some big bubbles in it for the most part were caused by me using csm instead of mirco spheres. I think pigment in the gelcoat would have helped futher as well

Cheers all for all the help, i wouldnt have even got this far with out you lot!!!
