ok, I made a mold and for had a couple little sections stick, we a couple of the sections were like 3x2 inches, where it ripped the gel coat from the mold. Has anyone used and poly primer or anything to try and fix the mold without sanding divets into it?
No, haven’t used anything like that- but I have used a product called “Patch Booster”. Mix it with tooling gelcoat and spray it directly on the face of the mold. Cures extremely fast and since it’s so thin, it fills all of the cracks/ holes. I guess it really depends how bad the mold is messed up to use this stuff.
I think your still going to have to repair the low spots THEN reapply your thin gelcoat and repolish to save the mold.
Cheat and use JB WELD to back fill, then sand flush and refinish.
Your tool may at least yield a handful more pulls if not last longer.
