Problem with the mould!!

Hi guys,

Before a week I try over tree time to make a copy of one moto part without any success. I have already done a very good mould but unfortunately I have in copy this kind of problem:

the way that I make the copy is:

  1. resin to the mould
  2. carbon
  3. resin
  4. release film
  5. breather
  6. vacuum bag

When its finish unfortunately I have the upper problems but in the other side (release film) is much better:

Can anybody help here?

george, im afraid i dont do vac bagging only infusion but the problem you have is air trapped. Did you just lay the carbon dry on top of the resin ? or was it laid in wet and then rolled or squeegeed to get rid of the air.

Baz

I just lay up at the top before put the carbon, then I put the carbon and again resin on it. After that I put release film and breather and last vacuum bag.

To be honest I have already order the following link:

http://www.harborfreight.com/cpi/ctaf/displayitem.taf?Itemnumber=93119

and I try for now on to make infusion too.

Good for you george, youll get more consistent results with infusion. That pressure pot is cheap, over here youd have to pay about 100 uk Pounds for that.

I am very lucky because I see this pressure tank in this forum and I suprised when I see the price. I have already order it and maybe I have it in 2 or 7 days. But when i received I have to make you a lot of questions. But if someone can help here for that problem please help.

Thats ok george if i can help i will. How much was it to ship to Greece, i didn`t know Harbour Freight shipped internationally.

The prices in that catalogue are incredible, you are so fortunate on that side of the pond. What you pay for in Dollars we pay for in Pounds and in the case of that pressure pot, well 5 to 6 times more.

I am waiting maybe today to tell me about the traveling cost. I will inform you if they call me. The only think in this pressure tank is to change the pressure gauge with the vacuum gauge.

I use a pressure pot just like that. It fine after you change out the gauge to a vac gauge.

If I knew how to get you guys stuff shipped cheaply I would offer it up

USPS ship very cheaply internationally for small to medium items, rolls of fabric would be a differnt matter.

I don’t want to say a bad words but the guys are crazy. The cost for the travelling is 75 US Dollars. Of course I cancel it and now I fix it with my self.

So I will put in new post my first DIY cannister.

Here’s a photo of my vacuum pot for the classroom from Harbor Freight (these are heavy !):

Here’s the inside with the cut down pipe and PE bucket liner too:

$75 shipping for such a heavy item isnt too bad.why dont you make one? theres plenty of posts on here with info on how to make one.
