Price of carbon to fall/rise with economy due to less demand?

So i’m wondering, does CF production experience economies of scale? That is, does producing a larger volume allow the manuf to drop prices due to savings that they experience? (as long as demand doesn’t exceed supply)

just curious.

Just like anything, if people are not buying, costs will go down on things. Whether companies are breaking even or losing out, sometimes they have to sacrifice to move stock. However, if they are not in the negative range, they may sit on their pricing. Ultimately it depends upon the individual dealer/seller.

Carbon fiber prices almost doubled in price due to the shortage because of the amount of carbon fiber used in the Boeing 787 and Airbus A380. Now that the carbon fiber manufactures have caught up with production, the prices hasn’t really decreased. Don’t expect it to decrease since the demand is still very high with Boeing and Airbus.
