What is the ideal prepreg cycle for epoxy resin (during prepregging)? I am interested in epoxy E-51 resin.
Read the data sheet for the pre-preg. Who is the manufacturer of the E-51? Some prepregs are 80c, some are 176c…some are 30min dwell, some are 6hour dwell.
It sounds like he wants to make prepreg with a machine and needs to know what temp to apply it to the fabric at?
if that is what he is asking…NO idea. hard to meter and b-stage it.
hojo is right in understanding my question. Any help from anybody else?
Have you contacted the manufacturer of the resin system for there recommendations? I doubt anyone here would know and if they did im sure that its a proprietary secret that wouldnt want to release.
make your prepreg in a walk in refridgerator set at 33f perhaps
I bet the epoxy manufacturer could tell you exactly what you need.
Either one of the above suggestions. The prepreg should come with an msds and data sheet. If you don’t have them call the manufacturer and ask for the cure cycle.
