Is there any product that can be used when i want to ‘patch’ an existing
carbon fiber with prepreg Cf material in a scenario of spot repair?
Now i just clean the surface and lay the prepreg to the existing one but i would want to be more safe with the adhesion of one to the other
You can use adhesive film if you needed to add resin. If you’re using prepreg for a repair, then you should try to use the same prepreg as the original part if possible. The prepreg you use would hopefully have the right resin ratio to begin with, so you wouldn’t need to add more resin.
If you’re repairing a cored section and remove the face sheet then you would need to use adhesive to match the original layup schedule.
the adhesion should be fine so long as you follow proper bond prep procedures and cure cycle temps.
