Pot life is not hardening time I take it???

Shouldn’t my epoxy have hardened a bit after 2.5 hours???
I measured perfectly, and mixxed VERY well…
or am I just rushing myself?? I don’t think it took this long to get stiff last night!

ARG!

It depends…what was the room temperature?

Pot life is the time it takes from when you mix it until the time it turns into a gel state. Not curing time. Most of the time the data is based on room temperature of 72 to 80 degrees. Usually around 75. The cooler the room temperature the longer it takes to cure. Also, if you have the resin spreaded out on a large surface area then it also going to take longer to cure. If you have it all pooled up in a small cup, the heat generated will cause it to turn solid much faster. Those are the things that you’ll also have to take into consideration. Anyway, pot life is not the curing time. Usually it takes about 24-48 hours to fully cure at room temperature. If you raise the heat then it will cure faster. Make sure you do not cure it at high temp until after it has turned to a solid. You don’t want to cook the resin.

Thanks all. I jumped the gun anyway.
The piece turned out very well this morning. I just got paranoid.
